Victorinox Swiss Army is happy to announce that one of its high-tech chronographs was chosen to adorn the wrist of Oscar-nominated actor Jake Gyllenhaal, playing Colter Stevens, in the upcoming Hollywood film Source Code, a science fiction thriller by English director Duncan Jones.
Scheduled for international release in April 2011, Source Code tells the story of Captain Colter Stevens (Gyllenhaal), an American soldier who is part of an experimental government program that is trying to prevent a train bombing from happening in the future. Through source code, the soldier is sent into the body of a civilian aboard the train and forced to relive the last 8 minutes of his life over and over again, until he can fi nd out who is responsible for the attack, and how to prevent it.
Jake Gyllenhaal is best known for Donnie Darko, for which he was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Actor, and Brokeback Mountain, for which he was nominated for an Academy Award and received a BAFTA Award for Best supporting Actor.
Gyllenhaal’s Source Code character wears a Victorinox Swiss Army Chrono Classic XLS MT. A multi-function chronograph with a 45 mm case in Black PVD-treated stainless steel, Chrono Classic XLS MT has a Swiss analog/digital movement and 2 LCD displays on its dial. Its high-tech look is very much in keeping with the fi lm’s futuristic art direction and themes.
Other Chrono Classic XLS MT features include split-time functions, luminescent hands and markers, anti-reflective sapphire glass crystal, water resistance to 100 m (10 ATM, 330 FT), perpetual calendar in English, French, German and Spanish, countdown timer with alarm, second time zone and an engraved tachymeter scale.
