Panerai is commemorating the opening of its flagship concept store at 21 Rue de Rhône in Geneva, Switzerland with a special edition Luminor. The Luminor Geneva Boutique Special Edition PAM02121 features a DLC-coated 44mm titanium case that wraps around a textured gradient dial with cutouts that reveal the luminescent hours and indexes. Powering the watch is Panerai's own P.5000 manually-wound movement, which has a power reserve of 192 hours. Each limited edition is fitted to a recycled grey strap and an additional green rubber strap is included.

‘The Rock’ Introduces The World To Panerai’s Hottest Watch

The superstar rocked a luxurious new watch for his big Super Bowl moment.

After what’s been years of seeing depressingly reduced attendance numbers at big sporting events thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, Super Bowl LVI played out yesterday in front of a sell-out crowd at California’s gargantuan SoFi stadium. The game itself was also some of the most exciting and dramatic football in recent memory, with the Los Angeles Rams scoring a touchdown in the last two minutes to secure a 23-20 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.

It wasn’t just the football that was exciting. The star-studded event saw celebrities like Kanye West and LeBron James in attendance, and the stacked half-time show featuring Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar and 50 Cent was truly something to behold.

We also saw ‘the most likeable person in the world‘ – actor, muscle man and prospective presidential candidate Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson – provide a rousing, professional wrestling-style introduction to kick off the hotly-anticipated football final. It was a solid gold performance, and fittingly, he wore a solid gold watch for the occasion: an eye-catching Panerai Submersible Goldtech OroCarbo (ref. PAM01070) worth AU$44,400.

The Rock is known for his love of Panerais, which is perhaps not that surprising – they’re big, beefy watches, perfect for a big, beefy guy. (He also owns hefty pieces from the likes of Audemars Piguet, Breitling, IWC Schaffhausen and others).

The Submersible Goldtech OroCarbo, as the name implies, features a Goldtech case – a unique alloy of gold, copper, and platinum that boasts a lustrous bronze-like red hue while being resistant to any oxidisation and corrosion when exposed to sweat or seawater.

Furthermore, the watch’s bezel is crafted from a combination of Goldtech and Carbotech, yet another proprietary Panerai material made from compressed carbon fibre combined with a high-tech, lightweight polymer.

The contrast between the watch’s gold and black elements is incredibly handsome; it’s sporty, masculine, and very luxurious. It’s not just a pretty face, either: like all Panerai Submersibles, it boasts a water-resistance rating of 300m and has a 3-day power reserve.

Italy Rejoices As Panerai Becomes The Newest Watch Brand In Outer Space


A slightly unconventional choice for a cosmonaut, the Panerai Radiomir is now officially a part of the most exclusive club in watchmaking.

Watch brands love to be connected with pursuits of human endurance and achievement: mountain climbing, motorsports, deep-sea diving… But when it comes to watches, space truly is the final frontier.

Only a handful of watches have ever made it into outer space. Of course, the OMEGA Speedmaster is famous as the first watch in space, but they’re not the only timepieces to have ever left Earth’s orbit (as much as OMEGA’s marketing department might try and convince you otherwise).

Now, in 2022, there’s another brand that can join the rarefied club of ‘space watches’ – Panerai. It might not be the first, but it’s unequivocally the first Italian watch brand to make it into space, and we’d argue probably the most stylish watch brand to ever grace a spacefarer’s wrist.

On the 19th of January, Russian cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov, the current commander of Expedition 66 to the International Space Station Expedition, wore a Panerai Radiomir (ref. PAM210) during some extra-vehicular activity. Russia and Italy might have beef at the moment over Ukraine, but we’d say that Paneristi across Italy and the world would be very pleased to see a Radiomir in space.

This officially makes Panerai the 7th wristwatch brand to be directly exposed to outer space, along with OMEGA, Glycine, Bulova, Fortis, Flyta and Seiko. (Other watch brands that have made it to space, such as Casio, haven’t been directly exposed to space.)

A retro dive watch like the Radiomir perhaps isn’t the first watch you’d think of when choosing a watch to wear in outer space, it’s actually a surprisingly good choice. Its large 45mm case, ultra-legible design, hefty construction and its shock-absorbent, hand-wound movement are all real pluses for an astronaut or cosmonaut.

The ref. PAM210 was produced from 2005 to 2012, which means this Radiomir is potentially Shkaplerov’s personal piece. This gives Panerai even more credibility, as it’s not just some cynical brand exercise. Panerais are officially tough enough to make it in outer space. As if you needed another excuse to get one for yourself…

Όντως Σπύρο! Πολλοί αναμένουν με ανυπομονησία τα νέα subs. Και να φανταστείς ότι υπήρχαν άνθρωποι διάσημοι watch funs που ορκίζονταν ότι η "μόδα" Panerai σύντομα θα περάσει ... Και τώρα πάει ΚΑΙ στο διάστημα! Μέχρι και τα 40αρια αποκτούν φανατικό κοινό ... εμού συμπεριλαμβανομένου λόγω "τραγικής" μείωσης του μεγέθους του καρπού μου! Για να δούμε ... Χα χα χα

Panerai Offers Voyage Aboard a Classic Yacht With Its Latest Watch
The 50-piece Radiomir launches Panerai’s new Experience Edition series.

Panerai has introduced a new ‘experience edition’ series of watches that will use NFTs to offer an “enhanced client experience”, starting with a voyage along Italy’s Amalfi Coast aboard the brand’s classic yacht, Eilean.

The first watch in the series is the Radiomir Eilean Experience Edition, a 50-piece limited edition that features bronze elements salvaged from Eilean during its restoration.

Each of the watches will be accompanied by a unique digital wallet that will hold an NFT that not only serves as proof of ownership, but will provide access to “benefits and services that begin immediately and unfold continually” that, in this case, will include a unique artwork and an invitation to the journey along the Amalfi Coast aboard Eilean in June.

Panerai acquired Eilean, a classic yacht built in 1936, in 2006 and restored it to its former glory.

The Radiomir Eilean Experience Edition (PAM01244) features a 45mm case of “patina steel” with bronze elements taken from Eilean’s restoration, including the engraved caseback sealed under a sapphire crystal, while the watch’s blue dial takes its texture from Eilean’s teak deck. Inside is a manually wound three day P.6000 movement.

The voyage aboard Eilean in June promises to take in “the culinary and cultural delights that the region offers” and will be the first in a series of such experiences hosted by Panerai this year.

The Radiomir Eilean Experience Edition is available now via Panerai, priced €39,000 (approximately $42,500 USD).

Ομως ακομα πιο εντυπωσιακα ομορφη η αυθεντικη Eilean!!
