VICTORINOX Alpnach Mechanical
Alpnach, in the district of Obwald, is a military aerodrome where the famous Cougar AS532 is stationed among the Swiss Army’s flotilla of helicopters. But Alpnach is also the name of a collection of timepieces by Victorinox, inspired by this renowned rotorcraft. A simple glance at the all-black or anthracite-grey dial is enough to recognise the flight instrument design. The watch face features 3 concentric circles for the hour markers (on the flange), minutes and finally, military time, all swept by two luminescent watch hands and a red or green-tipped second hand while the date is displayed in an aperture at 6 o’clock. These functions are powered by an ETA 2824-2 mechanical self-winding movement housed in the centre of the 44mm black PVD-coated stainless steel case. The case is fitted with a bezel engraved with a countdown and a screw-down protected crown. Price: 1,195 CHF – 1,295 CHF
