Spinnaker has expanded its Boettger Automatic line of performance dive watches by introducing a specially curated production run of 3 unique and stunning colours.
Named after Bernd Boettger (or Böttger), the inventor of the Aqua Scooter, this watch collection is a tribute to a remarkable story of ingenuity, bravery and determination.
Bernd Boettger (or Böttger) was born and brought up in East Germany during the Cold War. Seeking to escape and reach freedom in the West, he built the world’s first Aqua Scooter in 1968. Using this ingenious vehicle he succeeded to escape from East Germany.
Later on, Boettger patented the design of the Aqua Scooter. The Spinnaker Boettger Automatic watch pays tribute to this courageous man and his invention.
This attractive diving timepiece of the Spinnaker line up comes with a 42mm diameter stainless steel case. The lug less case design flows seamlessly to the bracelet. Built sturdily, it features a scratch resistant sapphire lens topping the case.
The Spinnaker Boettger diving watch has a slim bezel but carved carefully to offer a satisfactory grip for the user. Constructed for utility and ergonomics, the case offers 300m of water resistance.
The hour indexes are suspended over the hour and minute hand, creating a unique frame of time. Rethinking the traditional layout of dial face, the watch is still legible and completely functional as a true dive timing instrument. Generously lumed and using the right combination of shapes, the interplay of dial and hands feels natural and fluent to the form and lines of the Boettger.
The Spinnaker Boettger Automatic watch houses the Japanese Miyota 9015 self-winding automatic movement with 42 hours of power reserve.
Each timepiece comes in a striking orange pelican box. It also includes an extra custom moulded FKM rubber strap with the carefully engineered solid stainless steel buckle.
Three colour versions are available: Midnight Navy, Forest Shadow and Dark Olive. Each Boettger Automatic watch is only produced to a limited edition run of 630 or less uniquely numbered pieces.
