Grand Seiko recreates its first timepiece with the SBGW295
A striking tribute in Brilliant Hard Titanium.
Commemorating 110 years of watchmaking, Grand Seiko looks back to its original model from 1960 with the limited edition SBGW295. The company has recreated the watch with Brilliant Hard Titanium, a proprietary alloy that is brighter than traditional titanium and is also resistant to corrosion and scratches. The black urushi dial uses a special process exclusive to Grand Seiko that allows for the color to remain intact over time and the maki-e hour markers are added by urushi master Isshu Tamura in a precise application of lacquer and 24k gold powder. Powering the watch is the manually-wound Caliber 9S64, which has a power reserve of 72 hours. Completing the watch are two leather options that include a black leather strap and a woven strap made using a yoroiori weaving technique, a process once used for samurai armor.
Available this February in a limited edition of 500 at Grand Seiko boutiques and select retailers worldwide.
